 IT STARTED WITH A TRIP

Travel that feels good. Without trying too hard.

Small group trips for people in their 30s and 40s who've outgrown the old options and aren't ready for the next ones. Good places. Good people. Someone else sorting the details.

Nobody warned us
about the
in-between bit.

Your 30s and 40s can feel like you're somewhere between who you were and who you're becoming.

Your friendship group looks different. What you want from life looks different. Even what a good weekend looks like has changed.

We started It Started With A Trip because we felt it too. We didn't want to go away with a polished, stuck-up travel brand or revert back to our hostel years - we simply wanted a genuine community of people who want to see the world, meet good people and enjoy creating new memories and experiences.

WE KNOW THE FEELING

Sound familiar?

The same friendship group has new parents sitting next to people who never wanted kids, those who've just become grandparents, the newly married next to the freshly divorced, people killing it at the top of their careers next to people who just walked away from everything to start again.

We're all in completely different places. And that's actually completely normal - it just doesn't always feel that way.

Whatever brought you here, there's a seat at the table.

Friends are knee-deep in nappies

Your friends are lovely, but they're are knee-deep in nappies and you need a week with people who aren't talking about sleep training.

Just got a promotion

Celebrated with a Pret and a Teams call. You deserve better. We've got Italy in September.

Hit 40

The friend group didn't disappear exactly. They just got very busy very suddenly. Funny how that works.

Just left your job

No idea what's next. Turns out a hilltop villa in Italy is a surprisingly good place to figure it out.

Burnt out

Not crying-in-the-bathroom burnt out. Just done. A weekend away isn't going to cut it and you know it.

Just had a baby

Four nights of nobody needing anything from you. No agenda. Just you, a hot tub, and an out of office.

No one to go with

The group chat has had "we should do Lisbon" pinned since 2022. You've decided to just go without them.

No particular reason

You've been saying "I need a proper holiday" since before the pandemic. Here's your sign.

Just got divorced

You've spent long enough thinking about everyone else. This one's just for you.

Want to see more of the world

The places on your list aren't getting any closer. Good company makes it a lot easier to actually go and have heaps of fun along the way.

CHOOSE YOUR WAY TO TRAVEL

Summer 2026 (77).jpg

Built with solo in mind.

We're past dorm rooms and pub crawls. Not quite ready for river cruises. And definitely not spending annual leave planning something that needs another holiday to recover from. Here's what that looks like in practice.

Most people come solo

There's a WhatsApp group before you leave. You're not walking in cold. By day two it feels like you've known each other for years.

Max 14 per trip

Small enough to actually get to know people. Big enough that you're not stuck with the same conversation all week.

Just turn up as you are

No icebreakers. No trust falls. No "tell us a fun fact about yourself." You can just be whoever you actually are right now.

You book flights, we sort the rest

Accommodation, food, activities, transfers - handled. You just show up with a bag and good vibes.

No 6am starts

Unless it's spectacularly worth it. Which occasionally it is. You'll always know in advance.

You actually come back rested

Breathing room is built in. This is not the kind of trip you need to recover from.

The right pace throughout

Enough happening to feel like a real trip. Enough space to actually enjoy where you are and recharge your social battery.

Bring someone or don't

Solo, with a mate, with a partner - genuinely works either way.

AT THE TABLE - LONDON

Not ready for a week abroad?

Come for a social in London first.

Because your 30s and 40s shouldn't be this hard to meet decent people. Brunches, lunches, dinners, drinks, the odd Sunday in the park. Good company, no agenda, £10 a ticket. It's a low-commitment way to see if you like the vibe - and most people who've been on our trips came to an event first.

SUNDAY 17 May 2026 · 2:30-4:30PM

Sundays with strangers: 'At the table' Sunday pub lunch. Central London

SUNDAY 17 May 2026 · 2:30-4:30PM
